Thank you thank you thank you for even just clicking on this page! The cat house is a small business and is run with minimal staff to ensure every penny goes back to the kitties’ care. With that being said, volunteers will be essential to making sure the cats are happy and taken care of! there is no experience necessary to volunteer at the cat house, you just need to have a passion for cat rescue :)

all volunteers will be trained through our adoption partner. The first step is to click the link to fill a volunteer application through heartland. Please mention in heartland’s orientation that you are wanting to volunteer at The Cat House :)~ heartland animal shelter.

Volunteering shifts needed:

am cat housekeeping~9-11am Feeding kitties breakfast, litter box housekeeping, tidying up and getting ready for guests to come in!

PM housekeeping~5-7pm feeding the kitties dinner, spot cleaning litter boxes, dishes, and any tidying up and tucking cats in bed before closing up for the night

Adoption liaisons~ flexible shifts getting to know the cafe cats and matchmaking them to their furr-ever families, coordinating adoptions

cat taxi drivers~ as needed volunteers will pick up cats from Heartland animal shelter (Wheeling) and deliver them to The Cat House
